The Overbeck Project invites you to share your memories of the August 28, 1963, March on Washington so that the lessons of that day and time are not forgotten.
Please fill in all required information. Your contact information will not appear on the website, but will be maintained in an administrative database. (IMPORTANT STEP: before you click the Submit button at the bottom of this page, be sure to type the letters and numbers you see in the space above the words “CAPTCHA Code” into the empty space below “CAPTCHA Code”.)
By submitting your story, you are agreeing to the following conditions:
- submissions will be reviewed before being made public. We will not publish any submissions we find defamatory, abusive, illegal or otherwise offensive.
- once reviewed and accepted, what you write will become public, as an entry on the Read Memories page. The submitted memory will be titled with the name and city of the person whose memory is provided; if the memory has been submitted by another person, that person’s name will also be included as contributor.
- we ask for your contact information so that we can reach you if we need to, but we will not display or divulge any of that information publicly, including your email address.
If you would like to have assistance preparing a memory, send an email to the Overbeck Project with your request, and we will ask a volunteer to contact you directly.
